The name of my design blog, "in my element," came from the final project in my magazine design class last semester. We were to do a redesign for Midwest Living. In trying to think of a new name for the magazine a friend and I came up with "element." The idea behind it was twofold. The magazine is about living in the midwest--midwesterners in their element. Also, the magazine is about the elements that make up living--health, fashion, politics, family, food, travel, etc. I decided to use the name for my blog since it is about design and because when I'm designing or taking pictures, painting or simply being creative I am truly "in my element." I'd appreciate critiques and feedback about the personal work I post, or the work of others that I feature. Enjoy!
